opens local office on February 1
Janet Blauvelt is an attorney with 25 years of experience advising small businesses and individuals with business and estate planning needs. Although she tries to keep her clients out of court, when necessary, she also represents them in lawsuits that cannot be avoided.
While her primary address is in Kansas City, Janet is especially excited about opening an office at 118 Spring Street in Excelsior Springs on February 1.

Janet and her husband and a menagerie of animals recently moved to Holt, Mo., and she wanted to get more involved in the adjacent communities. Janet volunteered on numerous boards, commissions and task forces during the 22 years she lived in Kansas City, and she is excited about getting involved in the Excelsior Springs community.
"The Excelsior Springs Chamber has been very welcoming and receptive to new members. I have already received business and given my business to people I have met," said Janet. " The Chamber is a wonderful organization with great energy!"

Local writer offers classes and books to bridge cultures

Jean Leonard joined the Chamber at the first of the year with her new company Dawn's Light Classes and Write On Publishers.

Jean will hold classes in the basement of the Good Samaritan Center, Broadway and Thompson, entrance through the west doors. She will hold spring and autumn sessions, the first four Mondays and Wednesdays of April and the first four Mondays and Wednesdays of October. Her books are available at Choreography of Memories, 113 Marietta.
"As a teacher at Job Corps, I enjoyed meeting many people in the community who supported the Job Corps, or taught or worked there. I love the friendliness and creative energy in Excelsior Springs."
