The City of Excelsior Springs and the Chamber of Commerce have completed a new community prospectus called "A Planters Guide."
The guide creates a pathway to investing in Excelsior Springs for economic development, plus information on the city, schools, hospital, tourism and residential development.

Oct. 13 The ESHS Pop Choir is presenting their annual "Songs and Sweets" featuring a variety of musical acts that all ages will enjoy beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a dessert reception. Tickets are available at the door for $5, which includes both entertainment and dessert. Pop Choir is directed by Tim Harlan and made up of a small group of high school students selected by audition to perform at school and community events.

Oct. 21 - Nov. 29 The Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives is proud to host a cutting-edge art quilt exhibition, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Members of the Front Range Contemporary Quilters, one of the oldest art quilt guilds in the United States, will have on exhibit 40 quilts. There will also be an exhibit of local quilts along with the exhibit of art quilts. The Museum and Archives are located at 101 East Broadway. Click here for more information.
Oct. 23 Christmas Extravaganza from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., located at Excelsior Springs Medical Center.
Oct. 24-26 First Annual Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Festival at Mellon's Community Hall in Lawson. The festival begins with a music show from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. Admission is $8 per person. Saturday and Sunday festivities include crafts, vendors, a Little Tots Tractor Pull, an adult tractor rodeo, antique tractor show, Wobble Wagon rides, hay rides, train rides for children and more. The Gospelaires will be performing at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The first Pumpkin Patch will open Saturday, Oct. 18 and run through Friday, Oct. 31. The patch will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a $3 per person admission. Events occuring at the patch include a petting zoo, hay maze, a straw mountain, a House of Corn, picture cutouts and hay rides (available by appointment by groups only). Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 Murdery Mystery Weekend at The Elms Resort & Spa. Spend Halloween night in a historic hotel solving a murder! This weekend-long event includes a murder or two, red-herrings, food and fun. The City of Excelsior Springs and RDG/Larkin Group invite the public to participate in an on-line survey that asks about strengths, weaknesses and wish lists for Excelsior Springs.
