Upcoming Events

• May 21-23 – ESHS/FC is hosting soccer camp for boys going into third through sixth grades, 5:30-7 p.m. Cost is $25 per child and includes t-shirt, high quality and experienced coaching and potential opportunity to participate in local youth club teams. Camp will be held at Excelsior Springs High School's Tiger Stadium, 612 Tiger Dr. For more information contact Ryan Clemens at 816-519-2046.

• May 21 - June 18 – Waterfest EX Factor Open Audition, Broadway Bar & Grill, 295 E. Broadway, 7-10 p.m. A new event of Waterfest, a $2,000 prize will be awarded the winner of an amateur singing competition with Round One on June 28, Round Two on June 29, and Final Sign-off on June 30. Additionally, winner will receive 4 hours of professional recording session and opening act to a live band at Broadway Bar & Grill on August 16. Limited to best 36 contestants ages 18 & up. $20 entry fee. For more details and audition form, click here.

• May 26 – The Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives, 101 E. Broadway, will present "The Battle of Fredericksburg," by Divided Loyalties Speaker Brian Smarker, 2-4 p.m. For more information, call 816-630-0101.

• Future Event – "Honoring Our Local Veterans" display will be at the Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives. The Museum is currently accepting pictures of local veterans, past and present to pay tribute to those men and women who were willing to lay down their own lives for the liberties we enjoy. Please sent a picture of the veteran you would like included, along with when they served and the military branch. If they served in war, please denote that as well. To help offset display costs, there will be a charge of $5 per submission. Mail to Excelsior Springs Museum & Archives, P.O. Box 144, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.

• June 6 – Siloam Mountain Park Storytime presented by Excelsior Springs Mid-Continent Public Library, 9:30 a.m. For more information, call 816-630-6721.

• June 7-9, 13-16, 20-22 – "South Pacific" will be presented by the Excelsior Springs Community Theatre at Slightly Off Broadway Theatre, 114 N. Marietta, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays 2 p.m. Adapted from the Pulitizer Prize winning novel about World War II, the stirring music of Rodgers and Hammerstein tells the tale of two parellel love stories that are threatened by the dangers of war and prejudice. • June 8 – Anytime Fitness 10K, 5K Run/ 2-Mile Walk to benefit the Dream Factory. Registration starts at 5 p.m. at Tiger Stadium, 612 Tiger Drive. The 10K race begins at 6:30 p.m.; the 5K race and two-mile walk both start at 7 p.m. Pre-registration available at iwantregistered.com.

• June 10-14 – Tiger Team Camp at Excelsior Springs High School gymnasium, 612 Tiger Drive, 10 a.m. to noon. Camp is for boys interested in playing basketball during the 2013-14 school year. For further information call 816-261-4340 or visit the website.

• June 14 – Second Friday Art Crawl in downtown Excelsior Springs, 5-8 p.m. An evening of art, music, shopping and dining. Sponsored by the Downtown Excelsior Partnership.
