Excelsior Springs businesses and organizations known for their giving spirit come together offering their hospitality. Holiday season filled with activities, atmosphere, shopping as you can imagine, we have planned an exciting and fun filled holiday experience for our community. Some of the activities scheduled are:
Ringing in the Season – Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009
The Mayor's Christmas Lighting is an annual event that kicks off our season! As always, the opening of the Hall of Trees in the historic Hall of Waters will be a highlight of this evening that includes live entertaining, refreshments and pictures with Santa.
• Progressive Taste of Christmas, 1-4 p.m. (see below)
• Activities continue with singing, dancing and pictures with Santa, 4-6 p.m.
• Chili Supper sponsored by MAGIC, Senior Citizens' Center, 4-8 p.m.
• Christmas Parade in Lights, 6 p.m.
• Mayor's Christmas Lighting, 7 p.m.
• Hall of Trees in the Hall of Waters opening
• "Lane of Lights" a drive through lighting display opens
"Hall of Trees" – Nov. 21, 2009 - Jan. 2, 2010
The Hall of Trees at the Hall of Waters will be open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information on sponsoring a tree, click here.
Holiday Homes Tour – December 5, 2009, 12 – 7 pm
Tour five beautifully decorated homes in the Excelsior Springs area. Tickets will be available at various businesses for $10 and at the homes for $14. Click here for photos of the homes.
Lane of Lights
The Lane of Lights holiday light display is a beautiful drive through East Valley Park glittering with thousands of Christmas lights and holiday displays. Open weekends and holidays. Donations appreciated.
2009 Gingerbread Contest
The 2009 Gingerbread House Contest, sponsored by the Excelsior Springs Rotary Club, will benefit area soldiers and their families who are returning from active duty. Gingerbread house entry forms must be completed and returned to The Elms Resort & Spa from November 27 to December 1, 2009. Entries will be on display at the hotel until December 30.
