John Lacy, Excelsior Springs School District Superintendent, provided members of the Chamber with an overview of the Tiger Miracle Field during the January luncheon. Opening day will be Saturday, May 5. The field will serve the Excelsior Springs Challenger program for children and young adults. It will be available to the Excelsior Springs Parks & Recreation Department and other recreation/sports groups in our area.

• Jan. 26-29 – "Peril in Pointsville or ... A Lovely Day For Dancing" - A Melodrama performed by the Excelsior Springs Community Theatre, Slightly Off Broadway Theatre, 114 N. Marietta, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays & Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday Matinee. $10 General Admission. For ticket reservation call 816-637-3728 or order tickets online.

• Jan. 27 – Norton Blending Workshop at Fence Stile Vineyards & Winery, 31010 W. 124th St. You will also be one of the first to taste the Fence Stile blend. This workshop is limited to 12 participants. $30/person or $20/wine club member. Pre-registration required, call 816-500-6465 or send email.

• Jan. 27-29 – "Murder Room", a comedy by Jack Sharkey will be performed at the Paradise Playhouse, 101 Spring St. Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances include the all-you-care-to-eat buffet prepared by the Golden Ox. Visit the website or call the box office 816-630-3333 to order tickets.

• Jan. 28 – Street Corner Choir at Willow Spring Mercantile, 249 E. Broadway, 2-5 p.m. In the style of a true coffee shop sound, David and Lezlie bring their personal style to the bistro.

• Jan. 28 – Chili and Soup Supper and Auction, a fundraiser for Donna Vermillion, sponsored by Rayville Saddle Club and the United Christian Presbyterian Church, at Mellon's Community Hall, a mile east of Lawson on Route D. • Jan. 29 – Rick and Shay with their folky pop sound at Willow Spring Mercantile, 249 E. Broadway, 1-4 p.m. This duo is new and sure to be a hit.

• Feb. 3 - Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening at The Event Parlor, 405 S. Thompson Ave., 5-7 p.m.

• Feb. 11 – Second Friday Art Crawl in downtown Excelsior Springs, 5-8 p.m. Enjoy feature artists, music, dining and shopping.
